Ryan weighed her on our scale, which is not as accurate as her doctors, and it appears that this little bumkin is roughly 17 lbs. Whew! No wonder our arms are tired when holding her. I recommend all soon to be mommies do some serious upper body strength training. Luckily your little one pops out tiny and slowly grows, but you'd be surprised how heavy they are.
In addition, we found out that RiKa and Travis are having a GIRL and Scott and Lindsay are having a BOY! I think we are evening out the girl to boy ratio of the year. It was looking heavy girl there for a while.
I remember when we found out Natalie was a girl. It made the whole pregnancy experience much clearer. I could start dreaming of her future and of course, I could start sewing fun stuff. :) That is the first thing I did. I ran right out after work and bought girly fabric. I had already scoped out the cute boy fabric too, so I was ready for either.
Back to Natalie! She is sitting up on her own, although she often drops to the side rather quickly when she looks to her side. BONK. CRY. SIT UP AGAIN. REPEAT. :) She is still interested in her feet and I am doing my best to capture this. Heidi told me the other day that she will like her feet only for a short period of time because sitting up and eventually crawling is more fun.
Fussy time in the evening has recently begun. Parents talk about the witching hour that babies turn on the fussiness and until recently, we didn't experience such time. We think teething is right around the corner. Although she wants to be held by momma, Dad has a way of entertaining her in the evenings. While I cook dinner, Ryan takes her for walk about the yard. She grabs fists full of leaves and does her best to shove them in her mouth before Ryan pulls them away.
We are most excited about starting solid foods. It is right around the corner. Less than two weeks away! I won't gross you out with messy face baby pics....except her first feeding. /i have a problem with messy kids.
Thanks for reading. Come again,
The Garrisons
