Ryan is a born again hunter. Mushroom hunter that is. He creeps quietly through the northern facing slopes of the Tillamook forest, searching for chantrelles. Luckily, the season is very short and he, with the help of Eric Larson, gathered 40-50 lbs this year! While we were in Astoria for a bike race this fall, Ryan and Eric planned to stop along HWY 26 on the way home. Heidi and I sat in the car for about a half hour withe the stinky dogs while they were "hunting." Who know what next year will bring us during the mushroom hunting season.
