Ryan enjoys the great outdoors while Kate enjoys the indoors

Many of you know that Ryan spent 8 days in the Eagle Cap Wilderness last week. I have to admit that it was quite an experience for me to be at home for that long alone too! However, I was able to accomplish many home projects including tearing off 2 walls to sheet rock and insulation, sanding and painting trim and cleaning the garage. I can't believe that we can park a car in the garage!

The reason I was not out backpacking along side of him was NOT because of my extreme fear of snakes, it was because we are heading to Italy in a few weeks. However, they did see two snakes on their hike. When we planned this backpacking trip, we had no idea that we would be going to Italy. Sacrifices had to be made and I was left in behind. We are both really looking forward to our Italy trip.

So much is going to happen between now and then. Ryan runs hood to coast this weekend (his birthday is Saturday too). Labor day weekend we head to bike the North Umpqua Trail and then the following weekend he heads to Milan. I leave on 9/11 to meet him in Milan. I can't wait to share more photos and blogs about our trip and adventures. Stay tuned!
~ Kate
